The Opportunity

The Business Development Consultant is responsible for driving sales growth across a defined panel of intermediary accounts through telephony, virtual engagement, and targeted face-to-face activity. The Business Development Consultant will act as a senior member of the Individual Protection sales team, setting the standard for call quality, professionalism, and performance. By supporting Strategic and Field Account Managers through attendance at key account meetings, broker events, and industry forums you will contribute to the growth of the UK Individual Protection business. Guided by our purpose – always with you building a more confident future – and our New Frontier strategy focused on stronger growth, attractive returns and all-weather performance, this is an exciting opportunity to develop strong adviser relationships through consistent, high-quality engagement and market expertise. Use market insight to identify opportunities and drive product adoption. Provide coaching, mentoring, and quality oversight for Account Executives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver against monthly sales, quality, and activity targets.
  • Build adviser relationships via calls, virtual meetings, and follow-ups.
  • Attend key account meetings, partner events, and roadshows supporting SAMs and Field roles.
  • Support events through presentations, stand presence, and adviser engagement.
  • Act as role model within team on performance and behaviours.
  • Coach and mentor Account Executives.
  • Conduct call listening and quality reviews with feedback.
  • Support onboarding and training of new team members.
  • Identify opportunities, risks, and competitor activity.
  • Support leadership on team performance and culture.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in financial services sales.
  • Track record of exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong telephony and relationship-building skills.
  • Good understanding of UK protection market.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and call handling skills.
  • Strong presentation capability.
  • Coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Commercial awareness and market knowledge.
  • Organised and proactive mindset.
  • Full UK Driving License
  • Able and willing to work a hybrid arrangement, 3 days in the office, 2 from home

Preferred Qualifications

  • Insurance Sales Protection experience
