Business Development Coordinator - 12-month FTC
Main purpose of the job
The Business Development Coordinator supports the Business Development team in the structured pursuit of new business opportunities and delivery of aggressive growth targets. The role provides high-quality administrative coordination, data accuracy, and process analysis across bid, quotation, tooling, and commercial evaluation activities, ensuring that new business opportunities progress efficiently, transparently, and in line with Artifex governance, quality standards, and values.
This role plays a key part in embedding disciplined processes, reliable commercial data, and continuous improvement practices into future Business Development activities, to enable scalable growth. The position interfaces closely with Engineering, Finance, Operations, and external stakeholders to support robust decision-making and successful customer engagements.
Main missions and results
Business Development Administration & Opportunity Support
- Support the Business Development team with day-to-day administration across new business pursuits, RFQs, quotations, nominations, and customer requests.
- Maintain accurate trackers for opportunities, quotations, tooling, lump sums, and commercial milestones, ensuring visibility of status, risks, and actions.
- Coordinate internal inputs required for quotations and business cases, liaising across Engineering, Purchasing, Finance, Operations, and Program teams to ensure timely and complete submissions.
- Support the preparation, distribution, and version control of commercial documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency across submissions.
Commercial & Process Accuracy
- Ensure accurate entry, maintenance, and validation of commercial data within relevant systems and trackers, aligned to approved cost models and assumptions.
- Upload and maintain opportunity-related data into internal systems with a high level of accuracy, including pricing, tooling, intercompany information, and approval status.

Reporting, Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Support the Business Development department in producing and maintaining reports on opportunity pipeline status, quotation performance, and key commercial indicators.
- Support departmental KPI tracking through accurate data input, monitoring, and reporting, helping to ensure visibility of performance against agreed targets.
- Develop a process-analytical mindset to improve data flow, reduce risk, and enhance efficiency across new business activities.
- Apply continuous improvement (CI) methodologies to identify, analyse, and propose solutions to operational or process related blockers.
Collaboration, Quality & Governance
- Ensure activities align with Artifex procedures, quality requirements (including relevant IATF 16949 awareness), and internal approval frameworks.
- Act in accordance with Artifex values of Unity, Integrity, Responsibility, Pioneering, and Excellence, contributing positively to the culture of the newly formed Business Development team.
Preferred skills and experience
- Strong administrative and analytical experience within a manufacturing, automotive, or similarly complex commercial environment.
- Intermediate Excel capability, including creation and manipulation of trackers, pivot tables, and data analysis; ability to problem-solve using structured data.
- Working knowledge of ERP / MRP systems and understanding of end-to-end commercial or new business processes.
- Experience supporting quotations, bids, or commercial evaluations is highly desirable.
- GCSE (or equivalent) minimum grade C in Maths and English, or equivalent demonstrable work experience.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Proactive mindset with a demonstrated interest in process improvement, efficiency, and continuous development.
- Clear and effective communicator, able to work confidently with stakeholders at all levels internally and externally.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities in a dynamic, growth-focused Business Development environment.
- Motivation to grow with the organisation and contribute to Artifex’s long-term expansion and diversification strategy.
