Business Development Coordinator

Business Development & Client Support Coordinator

About WBD Group

WBD Group is an independent engineering consultancy delivering Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Temporary Works, and Façade Engineering services across some of the UK's most complex and high-profile developments.

Our projects span commercial offices, residential, life sciences, data centres, mixed-use developments, healthcare, education, and major infrastructure, working alongside leading developers, architects, contractors, and asset owners.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for an ambitious Business Development & Client Support Coordinator to help drive new opportunities, strengthen our sales processes, and support our continued expansion into both the private and public sectors.

Role Purpose

This role is responsible for supporting WBD's business development activities by generating opportunities, maintaining sales pipelines, coordinating bids and proposals, and ensuring prospective projects are consistently progressed.

Working closely with the Managing Director and Head of Client Relations & Growth, you will help identify and convert new business opportunities while allowing senior staff to focus on strategic client relationships and high-level business development.

This is not a traditional sales role. We are looking for someone who understands, or is genuinely interested in, the built environment and can confidently engage with developers, contractors, architects, and consultants regarding construction projects and engineering services.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development

  • Research prospective clients, developments, and project opportunities.
  • Identify new business opportunities across the UK construction sector.
  • Generate leads through proactive research and outbound activity.
  • Conduct introductory calls and business development outreach.
  • Arrange meetings for senior management.
  • Follow up introductions, meetings, and enquiries.
  • Maintain regular contact with prospective clients.
  • Help convert opportunities into secured projects.
  • Build relationships with junior and mid-level client contacts.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
