Job Description
The Role
Forbes Solicitors LLP are seeking an Business Development Coordinator to join our Award-winning Marketing and Business Development team at our Preston, Walton Summit Office. This role is full-time, working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This is a great opportunity for someone to start their career or progress their current career and join a collaborative and professional team.
In this role the successful candidate will support the growth of the Public Sector Division by coordinating business development activities, producing high-quality proposals, supporting with tenders, and maintaining accurate client and market data. The role focuses on building a strong pipeline, enabling collaboration across teams, and supporting new business, client retention, and cross-selling initiatives through research, targeted marketing, and event coordination.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for achieving successful outcomes such as:
- Researching potential new targets and opportunities to help drive growth across the Public Sector Division.
- Producing proposals, capability documents, and pitch documentation.
- Support with the gathering of information to assist in the preparation and submission of bids and tenders.
- Supporting client relationship management through meeting coordination and follow-ups.
- Supporting the Business Development Manager in driving cross-selling, our key client programme and dormant client initiatives.
- Supporting with the planning of business development events such as roundtables or hospitality and managing the firms networking process.
- Tracking sales pipeline activity and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Preparing regular reports and updates for the Business Development Manager.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records in CRM systems and internal databases.
- Ensuring all business development activities comply with internal processes and quality standards.

The Person
We will be progressing applicants to the next stage based on their demonstrated knowledge, experience, and skills in:
Essential
- Business Management Degree or similar business qualification.
- Relevant experience or exposure to business development activities, which may have been gained through employment, internships, placements, or university projects.
- Have an understanding of commercial awareness and an understanding of how to align business development activity with strategic objectives.
- Knowledge of marketing and business development best practices, including proposal development, client engagement strategies, and event marketing.
- Demonstrates good administrative skills including, word processing, maintaining records, and handling correspondence.
- Excellent attention to detail, including proof-reading and editing skills to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
- Demonstrates the ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and coordinate multiple activities simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrates the ability to work as part of a team.
- Demonstrates excellent IT skills and the ability to use multiple platforms such as word, excel, outlook, and other systems/databases.
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and external parties.
- Aligns with the Firm’s values.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and maintaining accurate business development data and pipelines.
- Familiarity with legal processes, terminology, and the operation of law firms.
