Are you a high-impact sales leader ready to scale a market-leading intermediary platform?
We are looking for a growth-focused Business Development Director to command our sales engine, drive significant market expansion, and lead a high-performing team in a sophisticated, data-driven environment.
Who Are We?
Conveyancing Alliance (CAL) is the specialist broker and intermediary arm of the Movera group. We sit at the heart of the UK property market, providing the essential link between mortgage brokers, estate agents, and high-quality conveyancing services. Our mission is built on disciplined growth, market-leading retention, and a commitment to excellence across the intermediary sector. As part of the wider Movera group, we combine the agility of a focused intermediary business with the scale and stability of a major industry player.
The Role
As the Business Development Director, you are the primary owner of CAL’s growth. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will lead our broker and agent channels across acquisition, retention, and share-of-wallet expansion.

You will work in a unique, high-yield partnership with the Commercial Operations Director. While they own the CRM operating system and cadence, you own the top of the funnel and demand generation. You decide who we talk to, what outcomes we chase, and how we deepen our relationship with every broker firm and agent. You don't just manage activity; you drive the predictable growth that underpins CAL’s long-term success.
This role offers the flexibility of predominantly remote working, with a requirement to attend our Woking office on a minimum bi-weekly basis for strategic collaboration and team alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Broker Acquisition & Market Expansion: Build a scalable flow of high-quality broker relationships across, leading a strategic, segmented approach to acquiring broker relationships across networks, DA firms, and mortgage clubs. You will own the full acquisition lifecycle, from identifying high-potential segments to designing structured onboarding journeys that accelerate the speed to first instruction.
- Driving Productivity: Increase instruction frequency across the existing broker base by improving engagement and reactivating dormant accounts.
- Sales Leadership: Manage and coach a team of mobile Area Directors and Account Managers, setting clear growth targets and commercial intent for every portfolio segment.
- Portfolio Segmentation: Execute a structured sales model across different account segments and New Business to ensure maximum value from every interaction.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
