Business Development Director – Clinical Research Organization (Global CRO)
About the Role
Join ClinChoice, a global full-service Contract Research Organization (CRO), dedicated to professional development and maintaining an excellent work-life balance through a collaborative "one-team" culture. As part of our in-house team in the United Kingdom (preferably in Greater London or Cambridgeshire), you will drive business growth by leading client engagements across pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and consumer health companies.
As Business Development Director, your role focuses on:
- Lead generation and opportunity assessment
- Account growth, including new and existing client development
- Revenue alignment with the company’s expansion objectives
Location:
- Based in the UK (Greater London/Cambridgeshire preferred)
- Ability to travel for client and stakeholder meetings may be required
Responsibilities
- Identify and pursue high-potential business opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Key Decision Makers (KDMs) and C-level stakeholders
- Develop tailored account plans based on deep knowledge of life-sciences challenges and organizational structures
- Refine business development strategies, honing in on client and industry vertical targets to reduce cost of sales while improving closing rates and efficiency
- Establish and exceed quarterly revenue targets in line with ClinChoice’s growth ambitions
- Present high-value solutions to complex business needs, both written and verbally

Requirements & Skills
Experience & Competencies
✅ 6+ years in sales and account management, with CRO or life-sciences experience preferred ✅ Strong track record of selling full-service global CRO services (pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and biotechnology) ✅ Experience engaging with senior management and C-level decision-makers ✅ Proven ability to negotiate and close complex business deals ✅ Persuasive communication and responsive problem-solving skills
Competencies and Soft Skills
✅ Excels in dynamic, deadline-driven environments while managing multi-stage sales cycles ✅ Detail-oriented with an analytical mindset to assess and tailor account-specific strategies ✅ A self-driven,Results-oriented professional who aligns with high-performing sales targets
Qualifications
✔ Bachelor’s degree (BA/MBA or equivalent) in business, life sciences, or a related field
Preferences
- Strong reference network within the life-sciences industry
- Experience working globally or with international clients
