Job Opportunity: Business Development Director

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we currently have a unique opportunity as we look to add a Business Development Director to further expand our client base. This role can be based anywhere in the UK but with a strong preference in the London area.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Head of Sales - EMEA, the Business Development Director will serve as the liaison between the client and Anord Mardix. The role will centre around supporting the growth of the business across the EMEA region; addressing customers’ needs and concerns whilst developing and maintaining strong relationships across the client network. The role will also focus on building and maintaining relationships with business executives and stakeholders, preparation of sales reports and identifying new opportunities, as well introducing the broader range of critical power solutions manufactured by Anord Mardix.

Typical Day

  • Support our Strategic Growth plan in conjunction with the Head of Sales and related key leadership stakeholders to accomplish the following:
    • Produce and maintain sales opportunity pipeline in line with the company strategy
    • Establish & develop new partnerships in region to support the Service offering – Including identifying partner selection criteria and selecting partners and developing support programs in conjunction with the Site Services Team
    • Develop and implement target data center provider and end user account strategy
    • Reduce the business exposure to service contracts that are low margin and have direct impact on site service engineering capability
    • Manage the tender proposal process and oversee administration in collaboration with respective business unit colleagues
    • Collaborate with the Site Services Team to ensure that we are working towards delivering the required services in region to our key strategic clients, and we remain competitive towards achieving our company goals and objectives
    • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to ensure that we have agreements in place with key equipment suppliers that are aligned with our company strategy to achieve best value for our sales proposition
    • Monitor market trends and identify impact on services offering and suggest new ways to promote the CPS division in conjunction with our marketing team

Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Technical Sales role ideally within a Service lead industry
  • Experience selling Critical Power products/services within the Hyperscale / Cloud, Co-Location, Hybrid or Edge Compute Data Centre space as well as selling into Facilities Management businesses would be advantageous
  • Proven sales experience delivering sustainable growth in targeted markets
  • Computer literate with high level of PowerPoint expertise, PC proficiency in Microsoft Office and or Google Suite with hands on working knowledge of sales cycle, contact management databases and CRM / ERP systems
  • Superior organizational, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, staff management plus development and operational skills
  • Superior communication skills
  • Ability to interpret architectural drawings and electrical schematics
  • Proficient presentation skills and comfortable interacting with all levels of management
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to motivate and coach others to deliver successful outcomes

This position requires regular travel across the UK and limited travel across the EMEA region
