Position Description:

The Business Development Director is responsible for leading, planning, and organizing department operations. This role involves identifying business targets in accordance with the company's policy and achieving set goals.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experienced within a CRO, biotech, or pharmaceutical environment.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent in a business, science, or related discipline.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with current and potential clients.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage opportunities across a variety of accounts.
  • Proficiency in English and/or another second language.

Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management:

    • Manage staff by the organization's policies and applicable regulations, including planning, assigning, and directing work.
    • Manage performance, guide professional development, reward and discipline employees.
    • Address employee relations issues and resolve problems.
    • Act as a coach and mentor for subordinates.
  • Hiring and Onboarding:

    • Direct the hiring and selection process for new staff.
    • Establish methods to develop and evaluate onboarding processes.

  • Process Development:

    • Develop standard processes to ensure staff have the proper materials, systems, access, and training.
    • Oversee the execution of the training plan.
    • Conduct SOP review and mentored training experiences.
  • Business Development:

    • Look for business targets according to company's policy.
    • Establish an executable business model.
    • Sense changes in the external environment and make proper adjustments to the organization.
    • Manage the department to achieve mission goals.
    • Provide necessary resources to the department to fulfill mission goals.
    • Be a partner to other departments of the company.
    • Search for more valuable services to increase the degree of customer satisfaction.
    • Monitor the global and medical/pharmaceutical industrial environment.
    • Research the global and China's clinical industry and its future trends.
    • Accomplish and execute the company's mission goals.
    • Access suitable financial resources for the execution of the company's business plan.
    • Establish connections with relevant customers and resources.
    • Manage the department to fulfill annual goals.
    • Issue department reports quarterly.
    • Supply necessary assistance to the staff of the department.
    • Meet customer satisfaction.
    • Comply with professional ethics.
    • Perform tasks assigned by the line manager.
