About the Role
As Business Development Director, you’ll proactively engage with Private Sector organisations across the UK & Ireland, understanding their business challenges, needs, and requirements. Your role will include:
- Identifying and shaping client engagements to position Version 1 as the unique solution to their needs.
- Leading Version 1’s efforts to secure and deliver profitable business.
- Generating leads, both independently and through partnerships, to maximise business growth and build our brand reputation.
- Engaging with c-suite stakeholders to foster long-term relationships that drive short-term and long-term growth.
Responsibilities
- Business Development & Growth
- Prospect, develop, and secure 7/8 figure sales opportunities in industries like Manufacturing (process, batch, discrete), Infrastructure (engineering, construction), and Environment (Facilities, testing, services).
- Deploy both new-logo acquisition and upselling strategies for existing customers.
- Lead small-to-large sales engagements, whether self-driven, Commercial Growth team-sourced, or partner-introduced.

- Establish long-term, profitable relationships with senior stakeholders in key growth accounts.

Requirements
Professional Experience & Skills
- A demonstrable track record in solution-based consultative selling to Private Sector organisations (up to CxO level).
- Expertise in private sector industries, including:
- Manufacturing: Batch/process/discrete operations.
- Infrastructure: Engineering, construction.
- Environment: Facilities management, testing, maintenance, field services.
- Proven success in digital transformation sales, focusing on:
- Applications
- Data
- AI
- Cloud
- Managed Services.
- Sales leadership with:
- Motivation, tenacity, and ambition in a highly competitive environment.
- Experience of winning against global systems integrators and major consultancies.
