Business Development Director
We are currently looking for a colleague to join the Business Development Team
About the Role
Universal Investment is on its way to becoming Europe's leading fund services platform and Super ManCo. We have provided innovative fund solutions for asset managers and institutional investors since 1968.
We are also well-established in Germany, Luxembourg, Ireland, and Poland. From our offices in Frankfurt, Krakow, Luxembourg, Dublin, Paris, and Stockholm, we continue to expand internationally.
We are currently seeking a senior sales professional experienced in capital markets and under the Chief Commercial Officer to join the Business Development Team, part of our Sales and Relationship Management Department. This role combines strong capital markets expertise with the proven ability to generate mandates, eliminating complex client relationships across Europe.
Responsibilities
- Identify, originate, and close new business opportunities within public markets.
- Target asset managers running liquid strategies such as:
- Equities
- Fixed income
- Multi-asset
- ETFs
- Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline across priority European markets.
- Lead end-to-end sales processes, from prospecting to mandate signing.
- Develop long-term partnerships with asset managers, banks, and institutional clients.
- Act as a trusted advisor, understanding clients’ operating models and growth plans.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities across the securities platform.
- Promote:
- Fund platform solutions
- ManCo/AIFM services (where applicable)
- Fund administration
- Regulatory hosting
- Promote:
- Advise clients on:
- Fund launches
- Platform migrations
- Distribution readiness
- Maintain strong awareness of:
- Regulatory developments (UCITS, MiFID)
- Industry trends
- Monitor competitor activity and market dynamics.
- Research and plan client-specific events, collaborating with the marketing team.
- Build and strengthen relationships with business partners, enhancing long-term partnerships.
- Represent the firm at:
- Industry conferences
- Client events
- Professional forums

Requirements
Skills & Experience
- Extensive experience in investment fund sales within a Management Company, with a solid international setting.
- Experience in sales and business development within the securities space.
- Proven track record of success in selling fund administration services to top-tier clients.
- Strong understanding of:
- UCITS structures
- Liquid investment strategies
- Good knowledge of:
- Capital markets
- European regulatory environments
- Familiarity with:
- Distribution models
- Fund platform ecosystems
- Established network and relationships with key players in the industry.
- Result-driven, able to leverage industry connections to:
- Identify business opportunities
- Source new clients
- Build strategic partnerships
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills
- Adaptable and resilient, able to perform under pressure while managing multiple priorities.
- Proactive, self-starting, with:
- Problem-solving mindset
- Ability to take initiative
- Willingness to travel:
- Nationally
- Internationally as required
- Fluency in English, preferably.
- Proficiency in:
- French
- German
- Any other European language (beneficial)
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in:
- Finance
- Business
- Economics
- Related field
