The Vacancy
Location: Manufacturing Technology Centre, Ansty Park, Coventry
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum + excellent benefits
Contract: Permanent ¦ 36 hours per week ¦ Hybrid working options
Are you a driven sales professional with a passion for events and business development? The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) is looking for an Events Market Development Lead to join our dynamic team and help us grow our corporate and agency event sales.
About The Role
As our Events Market Development Lead, you’ll take the lead in generating new business opportunities and driving revenue growth across corporate and agency sectors. You’ll proactively build and manage your own pipeline of prospects, develop strong client relationships, and deliver bespoke proposals that align with our sales strategy. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with proven experience in event sales or business development who thrives on achieving targets.
What You’ll Do
- Drive revenue growth through proactive sales and new business generation.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified leads.
- Develop strategic account plans for national corporate organisations and event agencies.
- Host site visits, attend trade shows, and network to boost brand awareness.
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver world-class events.
- Manage CRM systems and ensure seamless handover to event delivery teams.

What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or client acquisition.
- Strong consultative and solution-based selling skills.
- Experience working with corporate clients, venue finding, and event agencies.
- Highly organised, commercially astute, and confident in contract negotiation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable:
- An established network of contacts and knowledge of manufacturing or technical markets.
