Advanced Renewable Power Ltd (AR Power) is a leading Commercial Solar PV EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) business specialising in the design, supply, installation and maintenance of commercial solar energy solutions across the UK. Our mission is to help businesses reduce energy costs, improve sustainability and achieve their net-zero objectives through high-quality solar PV installations.
As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a highly motivated and commercially driven Business Development Executive (Solar) to identify and engage businesses that would benefit from commercial solar installations.
Role Description
The Business Development Executive (Solar) will play a critical role in driving business growth by identifying, qualifying and developing opportunities for our sales team. You will be responsible for sourcing commercial organisations with significant energy consumption that do not currently have solar PV systems installed, engaging key decision-makers, gathering essential energy data and creating qualified opportunities for our technical and sales teams to progress.

This is an ideal role for someone with strong prospecting skills, excellent communication abilities and a passion for renewable energy.
Lead Generation & Prospecting
- Identify and research commercial businesses with high electricity consumption and suitable solar installation opportunities.
- Generate new business opportunities through outbound calling, email campaigns, LinkedIn outreach, networking and other prospecting methods.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified commercial solar prospects.
- Target key decision-makers including business owners, operations directors, facilities managers, finance directors and sustainability managers.
Lead Qualification
- Conduct initial discovery conversations to assess suitability for commercial solar PV installations.
- Understand client energy usage, operational requirements and business objectives.
- Qualify prospects against predefined criteria including:
- Annual electricity consumption
- Site ownership or lease arrangements
- Roof suitability (where possible)
- Operational hours
- Decision-making process and timescales
- Financial viability

Skills & Experience
Essential
- Proven experience in lead generation, business development, appointment setting or telesales.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience using CRM systems.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to research prospects and identify commercial opportunities.
- Self-motivated with a proactive and results-driven approach.
- Confident speaking with senior decision-makers.
Desirable
- Experience in commercial solar PV, renewable energy or the energy sector.
- Understanding of commercial electricity billing and energy usage data.
- Experience working with B2B commercial clients.
- Knowledge of sustainability, ESG initiatives and net-zero strategies.
