Business Development Executive – Corporate Payments

About the Role
Corpay is hiring a Business Development Executive within our Corporate Payments division, specialising in our Corpay Complete line of business. Based in Swindon, the role focuses on identifying, prospecting, and closing new commercial card and payments opportunities, with direct reporting to the SDR Manager. Collaboration with sales, marketing, and client services is a key aspect of this position.
How We Work
The role operates in an office environment in Swindon, with Corpay providing structured support to succeed:
- Assigned dedicated workspace

- Formal training delivered hands-on by the team
Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Prospecting & Closing:
- Identifying and pursuing new business opportunities in commercial cards (e.g. corporate cards, virtual cards) and spending control tools.
- Engaging key stakeholders such as financial decision-makers, procurement teams, treasurers, CFOs, and FD’s.

Client Engagement & Value Proposition:
- Understanding client needs and their pain points in payments, then tailoring solutions to deliver tangible benefits (e.g. cost savings, efficiency gains, risk mitigation).

Sales Pipeline & Reporting:
- Maintaining a healthy sales pipeline, tracking revenue forecasts, and reporting metrics/KPIs.
- Adhering to revenue targets and market performance benchmarks.

Collaboration Across Teams:
- Partnering with product, operations, risk, and compliance teams to ensure seamless onboarding and successful implementation of card programs.
- Coordinating with commercial teams to negotiate terms and draft contracts with clients or partners.

Market & Competitive Awareness:
- Monitoring market trends, competitor offerings, and regulatory changes (FCA, AML, PSD2, etc.) to align продаж strategies.
- Supporting marketing initiatives, including events, webinars, brochures, and content development.

Client Retention & Growth:
- Delivering initiative client service to retain existing clients and drive upsell opportunities within their programs.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven B2B sales/business development experience in commercial payments, fintech, banking, or financial services.
- Strong industry knowledge including:
- Corporate card issuing/acquiring
- Virtual cards
- Expense management solutions (reimbursement, spending controls)
- Commercial negotiation skills with proven track record of closing deals.
- Excellent communication to engage senior stakeholders efficiently.
- Self-starter with organic capabilities to meet targets independently and as part of collaborative projects.
- CRM proficiency: experience using tools like Salesforce to manage pipelines and metrics.
- Knowledge of regulatory environments (e.g. FCA, AML, GDPR) related to payments.
