Business Development Executive - Marchwood
Located in Cawood, within the Cawood Scientific Environment Division, Marchwood was established in 1998. We provide a range of specialist analytical testing services to customers in the Environmental, Industrial, and Agricultural sectors from laboratories across England. As the leading UK Dioxin and Furans analysis laboratory and the UK’s leading specialist laboratory for independent occupational hygiene analysis, we support the Environmental, Occupational, and Food/Feed sectors.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Business Development Executive to join our growing sales team. This is an ideal position for someone passionate about science and eager to begin a career in sales.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Identifying potential clients
- Building strong relationships with both new and existing customers
- Promoting our analytical science services effectively
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage with potential clients via calls, emails, and networking
- Present and promote scientific products with clear and compelling arguments
- Understand client needs and recommend tailored solutions
- Maintain accurate sales records in CRM systems
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure customer satisfaction
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and training sessions
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
- Provide post-sales support and follow-up to retain clients

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, etc.)
- Experience working within a laboratory environment
- Strong interest in sales and customer engagement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to learn technical product details and explain them clearly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM tools
- Self-motivated, organised, and eager to grow professionally
