Business Development Executive

🚗 Field-Based
💰 £35,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus

We are currently supporting a growing international business within the commercial workplace products/services sector as they look to hire a Business Development Executive to support their continued growth across the South East.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious sales professional looking to take the next step in their career. Whether you're currently in an internal sales, account management or merchant-based role and want to move into field sales, or you're already on the road looking for a more new business-focused position, this role offers genuine autonomy, career progression and the opportunity to make a real impact.

The position is focused on developing new business, building long-term customer relationships and growing sales across an established territory, working closely with merchants, distributors, contractors and commercial customers.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing and growing relationships with merchants, contractors, distributors and commercial customers across the South East.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Winning new business across your territory.
  • Managing and developing existing customer accounts.
  • Building relationships with merchant branches and commercial customers.
  • Driving new business activity and pipeline generation.
  • Identifying opportunities for account growth and increased revenue.
  • Supporting promotional activity and product launches.
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to drive commercial growth.
  • Managing your territory to achieve sales targets and business objectives.

Ideal Candidate

They're looking for someone who:

  • A genuine new business hunter with the drive to win new customers and build lasting relationships.
  • Experience within sales, business development, account management or other customer-facing commercial roles.
  • Keen to move into field sales or already working in a field-based role.
  • Confident building relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Commercially minded, proactive and motivated to achieve results.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage their own diary and territory.
  • Ambitious, driven and looking for long-term career progression.

Ideal Experience

  • Sales experience within merchant, trade, distribution or building products would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience selling workplace solutions, commercial fit-out, facilities management or other B2B products and services.
  • Building relationships with contractors, merchants, distributors or commercial customers.
  • Internal sales professionals looking to progress into field sales are encouraged to apply.
  • A proven track record of winning new business or developing existing customer relationships.

Experience within merchant, trade, commercial fit-out, workplace solutions, FM or building products would be a significant advantage. However, we're also keen to hear from ambitious B2B sales professionals with a passion for new business and a desire to build a successful career in field sales.
