London · Full-time, in person · 12-month fixed term (placement year or graduate) · £27,000 plus commission
About Us
Berkeley Credit is a fast-growing, FCA-regulated specialist bridging lender and deal originator. We connect borrowers with a panel of private, family-office and institutional capital, competing on speed, certainty and service. As an early-stage business with a small senior team, the successful candidate will work closely with the founders and gain direct insight into how a specialist lending operation is built and run—from first enquiry to completion.
The Opportunity
This client-facing role is ideal for someone who wants to build a career in business development and origination within specialist property finance. Your focus will be on:
- Winning and managing broker and introducer relationships
- Owning the enquiry pipeline
- Moving live transactions through to completion
As the team is still small, the role is broad by design: alongside origination, you’ll support operations, day-to-day running, and systemic improvement—fitting your role to evolving business needs. This placement is perfect for an ambitious, commercially minded placement-year or recent graduate who wants real responsibility, variety, and early earning potential.
What You’ll Do
Primary Focus: Origination & Client Coverage
- Find new lending opportunities and build relationships with brokers, introducers and repeat borrowers
- Own and grow the enquiry pipeline, acting as the first point of contact for new business and ensuring live opportunity momentum
- Represent Berkeley Credit to brokers, borrowers and investors via phone, email and in-person interactions, confidently explaining the proposition
- Maintain an accurate CRM, keeping all relationships warm to avoid drop-offs

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
