About the Team & Role
Our EMEA Business Development team has a track record of continuous learning and overachievement—year after year. The team has won:
- Global No. 1 Sales Manager
- Global No. 1 Area VP
- Global No. 1 Regional VP
- Global No. 1 Group VP with 87% of the team achieving over 130% of Quota and attending our annual Winners Circle (sales recognition trip).

Role Overview
Business Development Executives (BDEs) expand Gartner’s global market presence by strategically acquiring new clients. You’ll:
- Cultivate trust-based relationships with C-level executives to uncover mission-critical priorities.
- Tailor industry-specific solutions to deliver clear client value.
- Own and drive the full sales cycle, from prospect identification to closure, before transitioning the account to account management for long-term retention.

In this role, you’ll focus on Large Enterprise prospects (companies with over $1 billion in annual revenue), whether they’re new-to-Gartner or existing but inactive clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Seek out and drive new business in your assigned territory, from initial outreach to closure.
- Convert prospects to active Gartner clients, including negotiating contracts and transitioning accounts to account management.
- Sustain a high-quality pipeline to meet sales targets (quarterly/annual quotas).
- Develop customized solutions (insights, guidance, tools) that drive value for your clients.
- Manage quota responsibility for assigned territory.
- Handle complex high-revenue deals, including engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Plan and forecast accounts monthly, quarterly, and annually.
Key Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in B2B sales, preferably selling complex, intangible solutions.
- Proven business development/new-client acquisition experience, with selling to—or influencing—C-level executives.
- Exceptional track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong ability to forecast and manage complex, multi-phase sales.
- Willingness to travel as required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
