Business Development Executive – Risk Adjustment (National Territory)

Position Summary
MedInsight is seeking a Business Development Executive to drive growth in risk adjustment software and analytics across a national territory. This selling specialist role focuses on acquiring new accounts and expanding revenue with health plans, provider organizations, ACOs, MSOs, and other risk-bearing entities.
Key Focus Areas:
- Credible Advisory Role: Engage senior stakeholders (risk adjustment, coding, quality, finance, and compliance leaders) by providing deep expertise in CMS-HCC models, RADV, quality programs, and value-based care.
- Challenger-Style Selling: Shift conversations from product features to business outcomes, helping clients optimize RAF performance, coding accuracy, documentation integrity, and audit readiness.
- Strategic Account Development: Develop tailored plans for high-potential prospects through outbound prospecting, market insights, and consultative engagement.
- High-Growth Opportunity: High-visibility role with career advancement potential, seated under the SVP of Sales & Growth and supported by marketing, sales development, and sales engineering teams.
Primary Responsibilities
Strategic Selling & Territory Management
- Drive a national account-based strategy for health plans, providers, ACOs, MSOs, and risk-bearing entities by:
- Conducting targeted research to identify and qualify high-value opportunities.
- Leveraging Challenger sales methodology to position MedInsight as a strategic partner for risk adjustment challenges.
- Build and progress multi-threaded deals involving:
- C-suite executives (e.g., CFOs, CMOs)
- Risk adjustment and coding/CDI leaders
- Quality, finance, operations, and compliance teams

Partnerships & Solution Delivery
- Collaborate with Marketing to coordinate:
- Outbound outreach (campaigns, event follow-ups)
- Account-based prospecting
- Partner with Sales Engineering, Product, and Client Success to deliver:
- Tailored demonstrations aligned with measurable ROI
- Winning business cases tied to financial, compliance, and operational outcomes
Performance & Process
- Achieve and exceed quota and pipeline targets while maintaining:
- Structured forecasting in Salesforce
- Accurate tracking of accounts, opportunities, and activities
- Stay ahead of regulatory and market shifts, including:
- Medicare Advantage & ACA reforms
- HCC/RADV coding intricacies
- Compliance and documentation trends
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 8+ years in enterprise sales (healthcare, SaaS, analytics, or payment integrity/risk adjustment solutions).
- Proven track record selling to healthcare payers, providers, or risk-bearing entities—navigating long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder decisions.
- Direct risk adjustment experience with:
- RADV (Rebased Adjusted Diagnosis-Related Groups)
- HCC (Hierarchical Condition Categories) coding
- RAF (Risk Adjustment Factor) optimization
- Regulatory environments like Medicaid managed care and Medicare Advantage
- Expertise in:
- Closing enterprise agreements (CFOs, CIOs, CCOs, Chief Population Health Officers, VP Risk Adjustment leaders).
- Partnering with Sales Engineering to align technical solutions with business strategy.
- Education:
- Degrees preferred: Business, healthcare administration, finance, public health.
- Advanced degrees (MBA, MHA, MPH) a bonus (not mandatory).

Compensation & Locations
Base Salary Range:
- General U.S.: $104,900 – $173,100
- High-cost areas: $120,635 – $199,065 (Alaska, CA, CT, IL, MD, MA, NJ, NYC, PA, VA, DC, WA)
