Req ID: 60974

Job Function: Sales and Commercial

Posting Start Date: 22/07/2026

Posting End Date:

Division: UK Business

Job Location: GBR Bristol - Assembly

Advertised Salary: Competitive

About The Role

As a Business Development Executive within BT's Inside Sales team, you'll be responsible for revitalising a portfolio of approximately 300-350 business customers with low or dormant spend, uncovering commercial opportunities and driving new revenue growth.

This is a true new business and commercial growth role, where you'll have the autonomy to build relationships from the ground up, re-engage decision-makers and identify opportunities across BT's extensive product and service portfolio. The position is particularly well suited to individuals looking to build a long-term career in sales, offering the opportunity to develop core business development skills, gain exposure to a broad customer base and make a visible commercial impact from an early stage in their career.

Unlike traditional account management positions, you won't inherit a portfolio of highly engaged customers. Success comes from your ability to create momentum, open conversations, uncover customer challenges and convert opportunities into revenue. It's a role that rewards curiosity, resilience, commercial acumen and a proactive approach.

For sales professionals who enjoy the challenge of winning business, creating opportunities where others see none, and directly influencing their own success, this offers the chance to make a visible commercial impact while developing highly sought-after business development skills within one of the UK's leading technology and communications organisations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
