About the Role
The Business Development Intern role at Blackmont Consulting is a hands-on, performance-driven position. You will be expected to take ownership of your work, operate independently, and contribute meaningfully from day one.
This is not a passive or observational internship. It requires consistent effort, professional communication, and a genuine interest in business development.
This is an unpaid internship. The value lies in the real-world experience, skill development, and professional network you will build throughout the programme.
Core Responsibilities
- 🔍 Prospect Research
- Identify organisations that may benefit from Blackmont's consulting services.
- Research industries, company backgrounds, and find the right decision-makers to approach.
- ✉️ Outreach & Follow-Up
- Reach out to potential clients professionally via email and other channels.
- Follow up consistently and schedule meetings when there is interest.
- 📄 Proposal Development
- Contribute to the preparation of customised consulting proposals tailored to each client's needs, aligned with Blackmont's service areas.
- 🤝 Client Acquisition Support
- Guide a prospect from initial contact through to signed agreement and project closure, coordinating with your manager at key stages.
- 📊 Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of your outreach and pipeline.
- Submit updates and attend weekly check-in meetings with your manager.

What We Expect From You
- Attend all onboarding sessions and weekly team meetings
- Maintain regular outreach activity throughout the internship cycle
- Respond to team communication in a timely and professional manner
- Aim to close at least one project per internship cycle
- Proactively update your manager on progress and any challenges
- Treat this internship with the same professionalism as a paid role
