Job Title: Business Development Lead, Europe (Full-time)

Travel: 30–50% travel

Overview: The Business Development Lead, Europe is responsible for driving commercial revenue growth across Europe, expanding enterprise customer relationships, developing partnerships, and delivering commercial outcomes across sustainability, energy transition, ESG, and digital decarbonization solutions. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, Europe, this role partners with product, delivery, and customer success teams to accelerate market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development, deployment and management of grid-scale renewable energy and energy storage projects across the European Union, including hybrid solutions combining battery storage with solar, wind and other renewable generation assets.
  • Proven track record of selling standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) and integrated energy flexibility solutions supporting the energy transition and grid stability.
  • Develop and execute the European business development strategy.
  • Build and maintain a strong enterprise sales pipeline.
  • Lead complex sales opportunities through contract signature.
  • Build senior executive and C-suite stakeholder relationships.
  • Drive revenue, bookings and growth targets across Europe.
  • Develop strategic partnerships and channel relationships.
  • Collaborate with Product, Marketing, Delivery and Customer Success teams.
  • Represent Univers at conferences, industry events and customer meetings.
  • Provide market intelligence and competitive insights.
  • Frame structured contracts in this specific domain, aligning incentives in outcome-based deals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Sustainability, Energy Management, Economics, Technology or related field.
  • MBA or Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of business development, enterprise sales or commercial leadership experience.
  • Strong track record of exceeding revenue targets across Europe.
  • Experience selling enterprise software, SaaS, energy, sustainability or digital transformation solutions.
  • Fluency in French and English. Additional European languages are advantageous.
