Business Development Lead
£30,000 base | £46,000 - £52,000 first-year earnings at plan | Uncapped commission
This is a phone-based business development role.
We’re saying that in the first line because too many sales adverts hide it. If you enjoy speaking to business owners all day, opening conversations and creating opportunities, you’ll probably love this role. If not, that’s absolutely fine - but this won’t be the right fit.
The opportunity
We’re the recruitment and hiring partner within one of the UK’s fastest-growing professional services groups, supporting around 30,000 businesses across the UK.
Our role is to help those businesses grow by finding exceptional people through retained search, hiring strategy and embedded recruitment solutions.
The opportunity already exists. Referrals from within the wider group convert at an exceptionally high rate. The challenge isn’t demand - it’s creating more conversations. That’s where you come in.
What you’ll do
- Call existing clients within the wider group, with a warm introduction and genuine internal referral, to discuss their recruitment and growth plans.
- Book business owners into a structured discovery session where one of our directors explores their hiring strategy and identifies where we can add value.
- Identify potential acquisition opportunities that align with the wider group’s long-term growth strategy.
- Build relationships with business owners, uncover opportunities and maintain accurate records of every interaction.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
