Business Development Lead

Providing vision & leadership for the charity’s income generation strategy through the targeting and development of strategic relationships with corporate, private and public donors.

What difference will you make?

As a team of volunteers, we are ever so grateful to everyone who agrees to contribute some of their valuable time to the project, but as a minimum, we ask for a commitment of at least 5-7 hours per week. All are voluntary positions with no remuneration offered other than what we hope will be a huge amount of job satisfaction and fun, working with like-minded people with a passion for making a real difference to future generations.

What are we looking for?

  • Business development and / or key account development experience, either from the UK or internationally
  • Have a visible passion for healthy lifestyle and for engaging in charitable work to contribute to improved public health, especially of children and adolescents
  • Experience of working or volunteering within the voluntary sector with a wide variety of stakeholders is a bonus but not essential
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills in English
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including ability to establish and maintain effective working and collaborative relationships
  • Have a real enthusiasm for collaboration, team building, standards of excellence, innovation, continuous improvement and constructive change
  • Be a team player who is positive, ‘hands-on’ and able to get the best out of a team
  • Fundraising and grants experience within the UK and or internationally is a bonus, but not essential
  • Working experience of UK legislation, charity regulations and key funding bodies in the UK is a bonus, but not essential

What will you be doing?

As Business Development Lead you will help formulate the income generation strategy for The CHC and lead the work to identify and implement innovative ideas in the development of products and services that will provide value to our potential donors and partners. This role is critical to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the programmes that the charity is developing to yield better health outcomes for children and families over the forthcoming years and to produce blueprints for solutions that can be scaled up to reach increasingly wider audiences that need help.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following

  • Develop and Implement Income-Generation Strategies
    • Create and execute comprehensive strategies to meet the funding needs and ambitions of the CFK and FAS projects, including setting SMART goals and leading your team to achieve these objectives.
  • Build and Manage a High-Performing Team
    • Recruit, train, and support a skilled team with the necessary resources to effectively pursue opportunities and innovative ideas, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of the projects.
  • Foster and Maintain Strategic Relationships
    • Engage with potential partners, donors, and supporters to build and strengthen relationships, creating opportunities for collaboration and securing interest, commitment and financial support for our projects.
