Business Development Manager – MSP / IT Services

Location: Cambridgeshire (Office-Based)

Salary: £30-40k Basic, £50-70k OTE

A growing Managed Service Provider (MSP) is looking for a Business Development Manager to join as a dedicated new-business salesperson.

This is an opportunity to join a profitable, well-established IT services business with a strong reputation, loyal customer base and ambitious growth plans. You'll work alongside an experienced Sales Manager and Director, focusing solely on winning new clients rather than inheriting existing accounts.

As a Microsoft Partner with strong relationships across tier 1 vendors, the business is already generating healthy recurring revenue and is now investing in specific new-business growth.

The Role:

As a dedicated BDM, you'll take ownership of new client acquisition across businesses within the home counties. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Generating new business through outbound prospecting.
  • Building relationships with SME and mid-market organisations.
  • Booking and running discovery meetings.
  • Identifying customer challenges and recommending consultative IT solutions.
  • Developing proposals and quotations.
  • Managing objections and negotiating opportunities.
  • Working closely with technical specialists to deliver the right solutions for customers.

You'll lead conversations around the Microsoft stack, as well as identifying opportunities across cybersecurity, backup, connectivity, networking, hosting and additional managed services.

About You:

We're looking for someone who enjoys hunting for new business and thrives on creating opportunities.

You'll likely have:

  • Strong B2B sales experience with significant outbound prospecting.
  • Experience selling new business from start to finish (ideally within IT or an MSP).
  • Confidence engaging with Managing Directors, CEOs, Finance Directors/CFOs and IT decision-makers.
  • Resilience, determination and a proactive mindset.
  • The ability to learn technical concepts and communicate them in straightforward business language.
  • The ability to commute to the office five days a week.
