We are supporting our client with the search for a Business Development Manager to join their team in a strategically important role focused on driving growth, increasing market share, and developing new commercial opportunities.

Reporting into senior leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, building strong relationships with customers and suppliers, and supporting the development and execution of business growth strategies. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in expanding the organisation's presence within existing and emerging markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities to support revenue growth and increase profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders while identifying opportunities to expand existing accounts.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to support organisational growth objectives.
  • Undertake market research and analysis to identify industry trends, competitor activity, and potential new markets.
  • Engage with prospective customers to understand business challenges and provide commercially focused solutions.
  • Support the development of strategic partnerships, alliances, and other growth initiatives.
  • Lead customer engagement activities, including business reviews, presentations, and commercial discussions.
  • Analyse financial and operational data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and value creation.
  • Collaborate with internal sales, marketing, operational, and leadership teams to deliver business objectives.
  • Act as a key representative of the business at industry events, conferences, networking opportunities, and customer meetings.

Key Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in a business development, commercial, or sales leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of business growth strategies, market development, and customer relationship management.
  • Demonstrated success in identifying and securing new business opportunities.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with strong financial analysis and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships with customers, suppliers, and senior decision-makers.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Capability to analyse complex business information and translate findings into actionable strategies.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Commercial Management, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
