The Opportunity

Are you passionate about the rural sector and energised by creating opportunities and building meaningful relationships?

We're looking for a Business Development Manager for our Rural team to drive growth for this important practice at Old Mill. Sitting within Kinbrook Group's Marketing, Business Development and Communications Centre of Excellence, you'll work closely with our Rural leaders to:

  • Identify opportunities
  • Strengthen relationships
  • Generate sustainable growth

This is not just a sales role. Success comes from:

  • Understanding the challenges facing farming and rural businesses
  • Building trusted relationships with clients and referrers
  • Connecting people with the right expertise at the right time

You'll take the lead on:

  • Developing opportunities
  • Building a strong pipeline
  • Increasing our profile within the rural community
  • Representing the group across industry events and networks

Working alongside advisers, sector leaders, and marketing specialists, you'll play a key role in shaping the future growth of our Rural proposition.

Requirements

This role would suit someone who enjoys:

  • Spotting opportunities
  • Growing relationships
  • Helping rural businesses succeed

You’ll need:

  • Experience in business development, relationship management, account management, or a similar client-facing role
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills
  • Commercial awareness, along with the ability to identify growth opportunities
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Experience managing opportunities, pipelines, or business development activity
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with colleagues across the Group
  • A genuine interest in the rural sector and the challenges facing rural businesses
  • Experience within the following sectors would be particularly valuable:
    • Professional services
    • Agriculture
    • Rural consultancy
    • Banking
    • Property
    • Land management
