Role Description - Business Development Manager – South
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to manage and develop our business within the Southern region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing distributor partners, driving sales growth, and developing new business opportunities. This role offers an exciting opportunity to utilise your expertise in B2B sales and to contribute to eGreen’s expansion and success.
Where will you be located?
The Southern territory is defined as the area South of Birmingham and requires extensive travel across the region; the ideal candidate will be based along the M4 corridor.

Overview
The BDM will display strong sales, negotiation, and customer service skills at the highest level to deliver the sales plan with key distributor partners and developing new business opportunities with end users and new distribution channels. Strong commercial acumen will be required to work with customers to develop long-term commercial partnerships which deliver value to customers and eGreen.
The role of the Business Development Manager (BDM) is to effectively manage the relations between eGreen and our distributor partner ensuring strong contact levels including distributor principles, purchasing, and the sales and marketing teams. A key focus will be new business development targeting accounts both in partnership with the distributor sales team and independently targeting accounts with the eGreen range of innovative ‘added value’ products.

Key Responsibilities

70% Retention of existing accounts
- Work with distributor partners to create partnerships that drive long-term mutual relationships. Building partnerships which deliver eGreen’s commercial objectives while adding value for customers.

Drive new business opportunities with the eGreen range of innovative products, to drive high margin sales.

Hold regular reviews with strategic clients/customers to review account data to determine:
- Account performance v target.
- Product range review and focus ranges.
- Success of agreed sales plan.

Deliver excellent customer service, professionally resolving any customer issues and working towards a Best-in-Class Experience for the customer.

90% customer retention ambition
- Have a clear understanding of accounts at risk.
- Actively manage risks by developing an account retention plan.
- Respond effectively to customer requests.
- Timely approach to repeat business deals.
- Collaborate and share best practice account management processes and customer experiences with the team.

30% New Business development
- Target and deliver new distributors both in existing and new market channels.
- Identify key end users for the eGreen ‘focus’ product ranges.
- Deliver agreed new business sales targets.
- Provide feedback on competitor activity and strategy, in order to develop the eGreen offer to support the acquisition of new business.
Skills Needed
- Proven experience in a B2B arena working with and managing sales through distributor partners. Experience in the packaging or catering equipment sector is preferred.
- The ability to build rapport and effective relationships at all levels with external and internal customers.
- Customer focused, with effective communication skills.
- Ability to work alone as well as in a team to achieve common and personal goals and targets. A proven ability to make good decisions to drive account growth and profitability.
- Strong verbal & written communications skills.
- Can demonstrate an ability to be able to negotiate skilfully in tough situations with both external and internal customers in order to achieve against business goals and targets.
- Can provide account and results information to both external and internal customers that is timely, of high quality and appropriate detail.
- Effectively manage journey plan to maximise customer facing time.
- Prioritise activity to maximise opportunities.
- Robust numerical analysis skills.

Essential Competencies
- Demonstrate an understanding of developing sales within the HoReCa sector, working in conjunction with distributor partners.
- Proven track record in existing account management.
- Understanding of customer requirements through direct selling experience.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail, planning, self-motivation, and tenacity.
- Ability to solve problems and make decisions as required to resolve issues.
- Highly financially astute with an analytical approach. Ability to make day-to-day and longer-term assessments and recommendations to improve customer satisfaction.
- Ability to work in partnership with internal stakeholders through effective relationships.
- Ability to define business plans for growth and contact strategies.
