Company Background
Collingwood is pleased to be the retained partner with this established and consistently growing manufacturer of security systems.
This UK based manufacturer employs more than 250 people and has a growing presence in mainland Europe and Asia.
Due to being classed as a heritage brand, the business has built a strong reputation working with installers, distributors and system integrators.
Historically run like a family business, the company has undergone a significant shift towards professionalisation over the past three years, with strong investment used to strengthen and add to the senior leadership team. This has been paired with a clear focus on digital transformation, new product development, and a more accountable, target-driven sales culture.
With a new, more accessible product range due to launch this year, the board has made the decision to invest in this newly created role to capitalise on the opportunity.
About the Role
This newly created Business Development Manager role is focused on developing new business within the installer network across Southern England, acting as the company's eyes and ears in a market that has traditionally been underserved by an existing team more aligned to account management and commercial projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
