Role Description
This is a full-time, field-based role. There are two positions available, one based in Glasgow and the other in Edinburgh. The Business Development Manager will identify and pursue new retail partners, nurture existing accounts, and drive revenue growth across Urban Shelf’s product portfolio. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Prospecting and qualifying leads
- Conducting sales visits and product presentations
- Preparing proposals
- Negotiating trade terms
- Regular account reviews
- Forecasting and reporting on sales performance
- Collaborating with operations, marketing, and account management teams to ensure a smooth ordering and delivery experience
Business Development Managers will be expected to stay informed about market trends, competitor activity, and category developments to support strategic planning and help retailers respond to changing demand.

Qualifications
- Strong business development and sales skills, including lead generation, and negotiation.
- Experience in account management or field sales would be a distinct advantage.
- Commercial awareness and analytical skills for pricing, margin analysis, and performance reporting.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities, with confidence in conducting in-person meetings.
- Organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple opportunities and deadlines.
- Prior experience in vape, convenience, or related retail categories is advantageous but not essential.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
- Relevant qualification in business, sales, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Package
- Basic Salary: £28,000
- Bonus: 10% of basic salary
- Car Allowance: £5,000 per year
