Steele Charles are delighted to represent our latest offering in partnership with our ticketing platform in Edinburgh - Business Development Manager
As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in driving growth by identifying and securing new clients within the live events industry. The focus will be on winning major accounts, securing partnerships with event promoters and venue operators, and expanding relationships with large-scale events.
This role suits someone commercially driven, relationship-focused, and motivated to close deals. You should be confident demonstrating enterprise software solutions, negotiating complex pricing structures, and building industry networks.
There will also be opportunities to attend festivals, conferences, and industry events to represent the platform and develop valuable in-person connections.
Key Responsibilities
- Outreach & Prospecting
- Conduct proactive outreach via cold calls, email, LinkedIn, social media, and industry events to identify potential clients.
- Maintain consistent, high-volume prospecting activity across festivals, venues, production companies, and event organisers.

Lead Qualification
- Ask strategic discovery questions to determine client fit and potential opportunity.

Product Demonstrations
- Present and demonstrate the platform clearly, highlighting value, features, and technical capabilities.

Commercial Negotiation & Closing
- Structure proposals, price complex deals, negotiate contracts, and manage opportunities through to signed agreements.

CRM Management
- Track leads, update contact information, and maintain accurate records within CRM systems.

Market Research & Networking
- Identify target sectors, key decision-makers, and emerging opportunities within the live events industry.
- Build long-term relationships and establish a strong industry presence.

Event Attendance
- Attend industry events, conferences, and festivals to represent the platform and stay connected with the events ecosystem.
Skills & Experience
- Strong ability to maintain consistent outreach despite rejection.
- Confidence explaining enterprise SaaS solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent communication skills across phone, email, video calls, and face-to-face meetings.
- Commercial awareness and a strong drive to win new business.

Technical & Professional Skills
- Familiarity with AI tools to support research, data handling, and personalised outreach.
- Experience using CRM systems to manage pipelines and track interactions.
- Confidence with multi-channel sales outreach including phone, email, LinkedIn, and in-person networking.
Additional Requirements
- Strong problem-solving ability and adaptability.
- Experience or familiarity with live events, festivals, or event technology is beneficial.
- Willingness to travel for meetings, demonstrations, and industry events.
- Competitive mindset and motivation to secure new business opportunities.
