Business Development Manager

Business Development Manager – Trade Credit Insurance

Location: North East London & Essex | Field-Based

Competitive Salary & Commission: £40,000–£50,000 basic + uncapped commission £80,000+ OTE (On-Target Earnings)

The Opportunity

This is a pure new business role focused on helping SMEs safeguard against bad debt and non-payment, ensuring confidence in cash flow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and build client relationships with business owners and senior financial stakeholders (MDs, FDs)
  • Introduce trade credit insurance as a consultative solution that enhances business resilience
  • Leverage a territory of warm leads, including:
    • Broker partnerships
    • Referral networks
    • Marketing campaigns
    • Internal lead generation
  • Proactively generate and win new business across North East London & Essex

Requirements

We seek driven, commercially minded sales professionals who excel at opening doors and closing deals. Ideal candidates will have:

  • 3+ years of experience in field-based B2B sales
  • A proven track record of winning new business
  • Strong financial literacy with credibility to engage with Managing Directors, Finance Directors, and business owners
  • Exceptional organisation and pipeline management skills
  • Experience in:
    • Financial services
    • Insurance
    • Invoice/trade finance
    • Business lending
    • Wealth management
    • Or any consultative B2B sales environment
