About the Role

A long-established national company specialising in bespoke architectural metalwork, fabrication, and structural metal packages seeks an experienced Business Development Manager.

Location: Reading-based (1-2 days a week) with fieldwork required.

Clients & Industry Focus

The role involves selling bespoke structural metal work/fabrication services primarily to:

  • Large construction contractors
  • National multi-storey residential developers

Key Responsibilities

You’ll work with an internal Business Development team to:

  • Identify and qualify project opportunities (residential, large-scale, multi-storey)
  • Convert leads into high-value sales, securing major contracts
  • Present solutions to clients in an engaging and persuasive manner
  • Close complex project-based deals withconfidence

Must-Have Requirements

  • Proven industry experience selling equivalent products fabrication/metalwork, including:
    • Architectural/structural metalwork
    • Metal staircases, stairwells
    • Canopies, metal decking, balustrades
    • Handrails or railings, façade/cladding systems
    • Louvres, glazing/façade fixing systems
    • Timber frames, bespoke joinery systems
    • Structural steel packages
  • Track record securing sales directly with housing developers and main contractors
  • Winning high-value, complex project sales—ability to handle multiples approaches
  • Strong pitch-development skills—comfortable presenting proposals with impact
  • A forte in closing complex deals— результативное sales negotiation experience
