Role Overview
We are looking for a high-converting, commercially ruthless sales professional to spearhead direct client acquisition for a scaling independent energy supplier. In this role, you will own the full sales lifecycle hunting down mid-to-large commercial accounts (0.25 to 25 GWh consumption), navigating complex multi-stage tenders, and closing high-margin deals. If you know how to bypass the noise, outmaneuver intermediaries, and drive bottom-line growth in a fast-moving market, this is where you prove it.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Lifecycle Ownership: Drive the entire sales process from cold outreach and qualification to final tender negotiation and contract closure.
- Direct Client Acquisition: Hunt and secure mid-market and industrial corporate accounts (electricity and gas, 0.25 – 25 GWh) to build a robust, high-yielding pipeline.
- Complex Tendering & Bidding: Orchestrate intricate, high-value tenders efficiently, ensuring watertight terms, competitive pricing structures, and maximized margins.
- Value Positioning: Craft and deliver sharp, differentiated pitches that position our supply and Net-Zero solutions well above standard broker and TPI (Third Party Intermediary) offerings.
- Product Execution: Pitch and sell sophisticated contract models, including fixed-price and flexible procurement frameworks (e.g., Flex Lite), translating complex mechanics into clear customer benefits.
- Pipeline & Strategy Execution: Combine inbound lead management with aggressive outbound prospecting, collaborating cross-functionally to optimize pricing and execution strategies.
- Account Longevity: Cultivate trust-based, long-term relationships from day one to safeguard client retention and extract lifetime account value.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
