Business Development Manager
Location: Field based – National
RS Safety Solutions are the PPE division positioned within the wider RS group global business.
We aim to provide PPE, Hygiene, and Workwear products primarily within the Food Manufacturing sector within the UK and Ireland. Our proposition is designed to supply, safe, and compliant PPE, ensuring both the safety of the wearer and of the manufactured product.
We are a fast-paced, proactive business, bringing knowledge and expertise to the marketplace, ensuring our customers are aware of the latest in innovation and sustainable options, making us the first choice for the PPE and Workwear requirements.
Safety Solutions are the leading PPE supplier within the Food Manufacturing sector and look forward to continuing to develop our presence and increasing our portfolio in the industry and along with associated sectors.
What you will be doing:
- This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established PPE Team as a Business Development Manager to help the continued delivery of excellence in the UK and Ireland.
- Liaise with senior contacts to secure new business wins.
- To manage and identify a portfolio of New Business Targets.
- Accountable to deliver against a pre-agreed sales budget.
- To be at ease in selling added value within a portfolio and delivering increases where required.
- Research target sectors, and product ranges with the objective of adding new opportunities to the pipeline.
- Working seamlessly with colleagues and suppliers to best support the role.
- Activities include identifying potential targets, development of product ranges, development of other associated sectors, cold calling, networking with suppliers.

What do I need to be successful?
- Proven track record in delivering significant new business wins, over a sustained period, ideally in a similar environment.
- Experience of delivering on an ambitious target and demonstration of pipeline execution.
- Understanding and use of negotiation skills.
- To manage onboarding of new wins liaising with all relevant partners within the business to ensure a smooth transition.
- To manage a seamless transition when handing over the contracted customer to an Account Manager.
