We're hiring a Business Development Manager to join a leading IT solutions and services provider, focused on driving new business growth across the Local Government sector through a broad portfolio of technology infrastructure, managed services, cloud, software and digital transformation solutions.

This is a consultative new business role where you'll be responsible for developing opportunities across new and existing local government organisations, managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close. Working alongside technical specialists, solution architects and vendor partners, you'll help public sector organisations deliver technology transformation while driving long-term commercial growth.

The role

  • Generate new business opportunities across local authorities and wider Local Government organisations
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline aligned to revenue and gross margin targets
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers across the Local Government sector
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial engagement through to contract negotiation and close
  • Deliver tailored technology solutions across infrastructure, managed services, cloud, software and professional services
  • Collaborate with internal solution specialists, technical consultants and vendor partners to develop customer solutions
  • Create and execute strategic territory and account plans to maximise new business growth
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline management and CRM activity
  • Consistently achieve and exceed new business sales targets

What we're looking for:

  • Proven experience selling IT infrastructure, managed services or technology solutions into the Local Government sector
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement and framework agreements
  • Strong track record of generating and closing new business opportunities
  • Experience selling enterprise technology solutions, including professional services, managed services, software or hardware
  • Ability to manage complex consultative B2B sales cycles with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation, presentation and relationship-building skills
  • Experience developing and executing territory sales strategies
  • Comfortable managing CRM systems, forecasting and pipeline reporting
  • Self-motivated, proactive and driven to consistently exceed sales targets
