Business Development Manager
£40,000–£50,000 + Commission | Retail Sector | Scaling SaaS Environment | Fully Remote
Are you a driven, commercially sharp Sales Development Manager who loves building pipeline from scratch and shaping the future of a sales function? This is a rare opportunity to join a growing business at a pivotal moment, owning the top of the funnel, influencing go-to-market strategy, and playing a key role in accelerating revenue growth.
You’ll work closely with the Managing Director and Customer Success team to design outbound campaigns, refine the ICP, and ensure a steady flow of qualified opportunities. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys both the strategic side of go-to-market planning and the day-to-day craft of prospecting and conversation.
What the Business Development Manager will be doing:
- Identifying, researching and prioritising high-value prospects in the global retail sector.
- Designing and executing multi-channel outbound campaigns across email, LinkedIn, phone, and events.
- Qualifying inbound and outbound leads using frameworks such as BANT or MEDDIC.
- Supporting later-stage deal activity including discovery calls, demos, proposals, and commercial discussions.
- Maintaining accurate pipeline data in HubSpot and reporting on activity, conversion, and pipeline coverage.
- Continuously refining outbound messaging, sequences, and sales collateral.
- Feeding market and competitor intelligence back to leadership to inform product, pricing, and positioning.
- Helping shape the future sales operating model, processes, and tooling as the function scales.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
