Are you an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in poultry or the wider protein industry?
Do you understand the commercial differences between fresh and frozen products and know how to create value for customers beyond price?
Do you have established relationships across wholesalers, foodservice operators, independent retailers or distributors within the UK food industry?
MacGregor Black are partnering with a growing international food business on the search for a Business Development Manager.
This is a permanent, field-based opportunity covering the UK, offering the chance to join an ambitious commercial team focused on driving sustainable growth across the protein sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop new business opportunities across wholesalers, foodservice operators, independent retailers and distributors.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing commercial accounts.
- Build long-term customer partnerships through a consultative sales approach.
- Understand customer requirements, product usage and volume demands to deliver tailored commercial solutions.
- Promote a portfolio of poultry and complementary food products.
- Monitor market trends, commodity pricing and competitor activity.
- Prepare customer forecasts, account plans and commercial proposals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and supply chain performance.
- Deliver sustainable and profitable territory growth.

What We're Looking For:
- A minimum of three years' Business Development or Territory Sales experience within poultry, meat, protein or food manufacturing.
- A strong understanding of the commercial differences between fresh and frozen protein products.
- Experience selling into wholesalers, foodservice operators, independent retailers, distributors or Cash & Carry customers.
- A proven track record of winning new business and developing strategic customer relationships.
- A consultative, solution-selling approach with the ability to identify customer pain points and add commercial value.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience of pricing, forecasting and margin management.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to work autonomously in a field-based environment.
- A full UK Driving Licence.
