Business Development Manager

🚗 Field-Based – South East
💰 £40,000 + Car Allowance + Bonus

We are currently supporting a growing international business within the commercial workplace products/services sector as they look to hire a Business Development Manager to drive growth across the South East.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and relationship-focused sales professional who enjoys autonomy, developing customer relationships, and winning new business. The role is focused on growing sales across an established territory, working closely with merchant branches, distributors, and commercial customers.

The Role
You will be responsible for developing and growing relationships with merchants, contractors, distributors, and commercial customers across the South East.

  • Winning new business across your territory
  • Managing and growing existing customer accounts
  • Building relationships with merchant branches and key decision-makers
  • Driving new business activity and pipeline generation
  • Identifying opportunities for account growth and increased revenue
  • Supporting promotional activity and product launches
  • Working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver commercial growth
  • Managing your territory to achieve sales targets and business objectives

They're looking for someone who:

  • A genuine new business hunter with a track record of winning new customers.
  • Experienced in field sales, business development, or account management.
  • Confident building relationships with merchants, distributors, and commercial customers.
  • Able to develop existing accounts while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Commercially minded, proactive, and comfortable managing their own territory.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously in a field-based role.
  • Skilled at managing multiple customer relationships and opportunities.
  • Ambitious, driven, and motivated by long-term career progression.

Ideal experience includes:

  • Selling into merchant or trade environments.
  • Building relationships with branch managers and local decision-makers.
  • Managing a geographical sales territory.
  • Growing existing customer accounts alongside winning new business.

Backgrounds within Merchant environments, Trade, Commercial Fit-Out, Workplace Solutions, FM, or Building Products are essential, and applicants without this experience will not be considered.
