Business Development Manager – New Business Sales

Role Overview:

  • Location: Hybrid (UK) with occasional travel to Liverpool HQ and customer sites circa 1-2 times per month
  • Package: Competitive basic salary, uncapped commission, significant career progression and equity potential
  • Industry: AI Software | Scientific & Industrial Imaging | Deep Tech

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across scientific and industrial markets.
  • Build, manage and maintain a strong sales pipeline from prospecting through to close.
  • Lead commercial conversations with technically focused customers, understanding their challenges and demonstrating tailored software solutions.
  • Deliver engaging product demonstrations, presentations and commercial proposals.
  • Negotiate software licensing agreements and successfully close new business.
  • Collaborate closely with technical and engineering teams to support customer evaluations and successful implementations.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships while identifying opportunities to grow existing accounts.
  • Represent the business at customer meetings, exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
  • Gather market insight and customer feedback to help influence future product development and commercial strategy.

Main Skills Needed:

  • Proven track record of delivering success in B2B new business sales.
  • Experience selling into scientific, industrial imaging, analytical instrumentation, metrology, semiconductor or similar technology sectors.
  • Strong commercial mindset with a proactive approach to generating and winning new opportunities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Confident managing complex sales cycles and maintaining an organised sales pipeline.
  • Ability to quickly understand technical products and engage credibly with scientific and engineering customers.
  • Degree, or equivalent experience, in a scientific, engineering or technical discipline.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with the opportunity to make a genuine impact.
  • Experience selling AI software, computational imaging solutions or advanced characterisation technologies would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience within a startup or scaling technology business is desirable.
