Role Description
The Senior Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Hemel Hempstead. This position is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities within the recruitment sector, building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers, and driving revenue growth for NumberMill’s services.

Daily activities include:

- Prospecting and qualifying leads
- Conducting client meetings and presentations
- Preparing proposals
- Negotiating commercial terms
The role also involves:
- Working with internal specialists to tailor solutions to client needs
- Contributing to sales strategies and forecasts
- Monitoring market trends to inform business development plans
The Senior Business Development Manager will collaborate across teams to ensure seamless onboarding, high client satisfaction, and long-term partnerships.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within recruitment, professional services, or financial/outsourcing sectors.
- Proven ability to generate leads, manage pipelines, and close complex B2B deals, with strong negotiation and presentation skills.
- Solid understanding of recruitment business operations, workforce management, and compliance or financial processes is highly beneficial.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, including the ability to interpret market trends and develop targeted growth plans.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders and collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and standard business software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite); familiarity with reporting and forecasting tools is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
