As we continue our journey toward becoming Ireland’s most trusted and sustainable business, we have an exciting opportunity for a successful candidate to join our Robbs Wines team as a Business Development Manager.

Robbs Wines, based in Lurgan, is a well-established wine merchant known for sourcing premium wines from renowned vineyards across the globe. With a strong reputation for quality and expertise, Robbs Wines serves both the hospitality and retail sectors throughout Ireland. Now part of the Musgrave Group, the business continues to grow while maintaining its commitment to excellence and customer service.

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and driven Business Development Manager to join our team at Robbs Wines, Lurgan. This role is ideal for someone with a strong interest in wine, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to drive sales. You will be responsible for promoting our portfolio of wines, building client relationships, and supporting the growth of our brand across retail and hospitality sectors.


What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients
  • Promote and sell a curated selection of wines to retailers, restaurants and distributors.
  • Provide expert product knowledge and recommendations tailored to customer needs.
  • Meet and exceed quarterly sales and margin targets in line with objectives, contributing to overall business growth.
  • Support wine tastings, events and promotional activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity and customer interactions.
  • Collaborate with sales manager to develop and execute sales strategies.
  • Maintain good relationships with internal functions, including trading, marketing, telesales and logistics.
  • Undertake any other responsibilities as delegated by the Sales Manager

What we are looking for:

  • 3+ years experience in a sales role with experience in wine sales
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Organised, proactive and customer-focused.

Desirable criteria (these would be an advantage but not essential)

  • Experience in preparing quotes and pricing for both new and existing business.
  • Strong understanding of sales margins and commercial decision making.
