Role Description
This is a full-time Business Development Manager role based in Harlow, offered on a hybrid working model with some work from home flexibility. The role involves identifying and qualifying new business opportunities, building and managing a robust sales pipeline, and developing relationships with prospective and existing customers across key logistics sectors. The Business Development Manager will prepare and deliver tailored proposals and presentations, negotiate commercial terms, and collaborate with operations and customer service teams to ensure successful onboarding and ongoing service performance.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Market research
- Competitor analysis
- Accurate forecasting and reporting
- Contributing to sales strategies that support growth targets

The role also requires regular travel to customer sites and DX locations as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within logistics, supply chain, or a related B2B environment.
- Strong skills in prospecting, lead generation, pipeline management, and closing deals to meet or exceed revenue targets.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships, with effective stakeholder management and negotiation capabilities.
- Competence in market analysis, identifying customer needs, and translating them into tailored service solutions and pricing proposals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including the ability to create clear proposals and deliver persuasive sales pitches.
- Comfort with using CRM systems and standard office software for tracking opportunities, reporting, and sales performance analysis.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Experience working in or with logistics operations (e.g., parcels, freight, final mile, same-day delivery) is highly beneficial.
- Valid right to work in the UK and willingness to travel to customer sites and DX locations as required.
- Relevant education in business, logistics, or a related field is advantageous but equivalent experience will be considered.
