Job Description

About Roofing Distribution & Roof Assured by Sika

The Roofing Distribution team services nationally the UK roofing market with a range of PVC single ply membranes, PU liquid-applied membranes, RBM reinforced bituminous membranes, GRP liquid-applied membranes, Pitched Roof membranes, related Ancillaries, Adhesives, Sealants, Primers, Adhesives, many Repair & Maintain products via a network of Sika Stockists.

Installer training is offered for all the Roof Assured by Sika waterproofing systems to support the correct installation, in line with British Standards and industry guidelines.

After which, homeowner/domestic lead opportunities are passed to the approved installer network.

About the UK role

We are looking for a field salesperson to join our Northern regional Roofing Distribution team, which covers the Northeast area. The candidate will ideally live within the region. The successful candidate will be responsible for all Roofing Distribution account customers within the territory.

There are three main customer types who are to be supported as part of this role, Homeowners, Installers and Stockists. Each have different needs but are linked together meaning this role requires good communication skills, the ability to present as well as excellent organisation skills. An aptitude to learn technical aspects of the product range will be an advantage.

Homeowners – assist, qualify, collate & support enquiries which in turn are passed to the approved Roof Assured by Sika Installers.

Installers – assist with technical queries, product information, engage with leads and support the installer training programmes as required.

Stockists – assist with all product & information queries, proactively source new customers for each branch, engagement through all communication methods and host Roof Assured by Sika Open Mornings to promote the ranges and recruit new installers.

Roofing Distribution customers cover all areas of Sika UK Target Markets, so close collaboration with all Target Market colleagues will be essential.

The Northern team including this role, consists of 2 Business Development Managers and this role would suit an individual that is proactive, has strong relationship building skills, enthusiastic and a desire to succeed.

To maximise sales and profitability through the education, and relationship management of customers and potential customers within the Roofing Distribution Market.

Qualifications

What we need from you?

  • Minimum of 2 years field sales experience.

  • Must be IT Literate utilising all Microsoft programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and have working knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Industry/competitor knowledge would be advantageous.

  • Product training will be included as well as joint visits to aid your understanding of the business model, opportunities and needs of the market. However, we are looking for a candidate that can proactively come forward with energy and ideas also to help the team be as successful as possible.
  • In addition, wider support is provided by multiple areas of Sika including Marketing, UK Distribution, Product Management and Installer Training.

The Skills:

  • A highly motivated, organised and proactive individual is required to take ownership of their region and drive relationships and growth for Sika and its Stockists partners whilst supporting the Installers to aid their promotion of the Roof Assured by Sika flat roofing systems to the domestic/residential market.
  • Strong field sales experience within the construction industry.
  • Strategic management of area to maximise sales and profitability.
  • Product/industry knowledge (advantageous)
  • Ability to develop strong customer relationships. Industry knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Must be IT Literate and have working knowledge of CRM systems.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills utilising all Microsoft programmes including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
