Company Description
Advanced Renewable Power Ltd (AR Power) is an MCS-accredited renewable energy company based in the North East of England, operating nationally across the UK. The organisation is led by professionals who are deeply committed to environmental sustainability and the expansion of clean energy solutions. AR Power focuses on promoting and accelerating the adoption of solar and battery storage technologies, with a particular emphasis on commercial Solar PV systems. The company provides end-to-end services, including design, supply, installation, and commissioning, to maximise return on investment for clients.
Role Description
The Business Development Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Washington. This position is responsible for:
- Identifying and developing new commercial opportunities for Solar PV and battery storage projects
- Building strong relationships with prospective and existing clients
- Managing the sales pipeline from initial contact through to contract closure

The role involves:

- Conducting market research
- Preparing proposals and presentations
- Collaborating with technical teams to shape solutions
- Negotiating terms that align client needs with company objectives
The Business Development Manager will:
- Regularly visit client sites
- Attend industry events
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure a seamless handover from sales to project delivery
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, or account management within renewable energy, commercial construction, or related industries.
- Strong skills in lead generation, prospecting, and pipeline management, including the use of CRM tools to track opportunities and forecasting.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical concepts related to Solar PV, battery storage, and energy solutions in a clear, client-focused manner.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Solid analytical and commercial acumen, including the ability to interpret data, prepare business cases, and support ROI-focused proposals.
- Self-motivated and organised, with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently on-site and in the field.
- Familiarity with UK renewable energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and sustainability initiatives is highly beneficial.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer locations and industry events as required.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in business, engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline is an advantage.
