Business Development Manager

If you're a strategic and commercially minded Business Development professional looking to work alongside some of the most highly regarded lawyers in the market, this is an opportunity to join a prestigious global law firm with an outstanding reputation and an enviable client base.

Supporting market-leading Corporate, Litigation, and Project Finance practices, you'll play a key role in shaping business development strategy, driving client growth initiatives, and delivering high-profile campaigns across some of the firm's most successful practice areas.

This is a visible and influential position, offering direct access to partners, involvement in complex international matters, and the opportunity to make a genuine impact on the firm's growth agenda.

The Opportunity

Acting as the trusted advisor to partners and fee earners, you'll lead a broad range of business development and marketing activity across three flagship practice groups. From strategic planning and client targeting through to pitches, thought leadership, events, and directory submissions, you'll be responsible for ensuring initiatives translate into tangible commercial outcomes.

Working as part of a collaborative and high-performing BD team, you'll have the autonomy to bring new ideas, challenge thinking, and identify opportunities to strengthen client relationships, cross-selling initiatives, and market profile.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with lawyers to develop and implement business development and marketing plans
  • Lead the end-to-end management of pitches, proposals, and RFPs
  • Drive client targeting and client development initiatives
  • Produce high-quality marketing collateral, presentations, and client communications
  • Manage prestigious client events, conferences, and thought leadership programmes
  • Lead Chambers, Legal 500, and award submissions
  • Work closely with PR and communications teams to maximize profile-raising opportunities
  • Conduct market, client, and competitor research to support strategic decision-making
  • Maintain experience and deal databases, ensuring best practice around data and reporting
  • Collaborate with international marketing and business development colleagues on global initiatives

About You

  • Solid business development and marketing experience within a law firm or professional services environment
  • Strong experience supporting Corporate, Litigation, Finance, or comparable practice groups would be advantageous
  • A proven track record managing complex pitches and proposals
  • Confident influencing senior stakeholders and building credibility at partner level
