Role: Business Development Manager

Location: London/South East - office based 2 days a week

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client is a recognised leader in the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) and Facilities Management (FM) sector, backed by a blue-chip client roster and an unyielding commitment to quality. Now, they’re gearing up for their next major expansion across London and the Home Counties—and they need a high-energy Business Development Manager to spearhead the growth.

If you’re a natural deal-closer with deep roots in B2B sales, who thrives on taking opportunities from initial spark to ink on paper, this is your role.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Hunting & Closing: Proactively prospect, negotiate, and win new hard FM business across commercial and healthcare sectors.
  • Pricing & Bidding: Work directly on high-value opportunities, collaborating seamlessly with our Bid & Tender team to craft pitch-perfect proposals.
  • Pipeline Mastery: Keep your pipeline razor-sharp using Pipedrive CRM, managing the full sales journey from prospect to long-term partner.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of industry trends, spot emerging opportunities, and keep steps ahead of the competition.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with Marketing, Technical, and Tender teams to ensure the offering is spot-on and onboarding is seamless.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • Proven Track Record: At least 5 years of solid Business Development / Sales experience specifically within B2B
  • Deal Closing Skills: A demonstrable history of taking deals from inception through to signed contracts.
  • Commercial Expertise: Hands-on ability to price works up to the £100k–£200k mark.
  • Tech & CRM Savvy: Highly proficient in CRM tools (ideally Pipedrive) and standard business suites for proposals and forecasting.
  • Tender Experience: Sound knowledge of both public and private procurement processes.
  • The Vibe: Results-driven, sharp, articulate, and adaptable, with strong negotiation chops and a collaborative mindset.
