Business Development Manager – £45,000 - £55,000 – Bristol, Bonus & Benefits Package

The Business Development Manager Job

We are recruiting on behalf of a growing and reputable business within the construction sector for a Business Development Manager to join their team in Bristol.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially driven professional with experience in the construction industry to play a key role in driving business growth. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing relationships with key stakeholders and securing new contracts across a range of construction projects.

Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, you will help strengthen the company's market presence while building long-term relationships with clients, contractors, developers, and industry partners.

Key Business Development Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities within the construction sector.
  • Developing and implementing business development strategies to support company growth.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with contractors, developers, consultants, and key decision-makers.
  • Managing the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract negotiation and handover.
  • Attending networking events, industry exhibitions, and client meetings.
  • Preparing and delivering presentations, proposals, and tender submissions.
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Maintaining an accurate pipeline of opportunities through CRM systems.
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
  • Achieving agreed revenue and business growth targets.

The Business Development Manager Candidate

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in business development within the construction industry and be confident building relationships at all levels.

You will also have:

  • Previous experience in a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, or Account Management role within construction.
  • Strong understanding of the construction market and project lifecycle.
  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to generate and convert new business opportunities.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities effectively.
  • Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel for client meetings.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working with contractors, developers, housebuilders, or construction consultancies.
  • Knowledge of tendering and procurement processes.
  • Existing network of industry contacts within the South West region.
