Business Development Manager – Commercial Washroom Solutions

The Opportunity

We are seeking an ambitious and commercially driven Business Development Manager to join our growing sales team. This high-impact field sales role focuses on winning and developing commercial washroom projects across both the public and private sectors.

The Role

Key Responsibilities

As Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Take ownership of a defined territory (covering the North).
  • Generate new business growth through specification-led sales activity.
  • Work closely with end users, estates and sustainability teams, building owners, and facilities managers to fuel demand for Cistermiser’s water-saving solutions, including:
    • Commercial washroom flushing systems
    • Cold water tank management solutions
  • Collaborate with M&E contractors and facilities management professionals.
  • Develop strong partnerships with merchant and distribution partners such as Wolseley, BSS, and City Plumbing.
  • Present water-saving solutions, conduct washroom water surveys, and demonstrate return on investment.
  • Contract packages from project drawings, sanitaryware schedules, and specification documents.
  • Manage projects from initial lead generation, through surveys, business case development, right up to specification and close.

About You

We are looking for a motivated, energetic, and commercially-driven sales professional who excels in a "hunter mentality" role—someone who thrives on building long-term relationships while driving revenue at scale.

Essential

  • Field sales experience within plumbing, heating, or commercial building services.
  • Proven track record in selling through specification channels and engaging directly with decision-makers.
  • Strong relationships with M&E contractors, FM contractors, consultants, architects, and end-user clients.
  • Extensive knowledge of merchant routes to market, including Wolseley, City Plumbing, and BSS.
  • Experience selling products such as:
    • Flushing systems
    • Flush controls
    • Urinal flushing solutions
    • Washroom valves
    • Showers
    • Sanitaryware
    • Related plumbing solutions

  • Self-motivated, personable, and confident when engaging with clients.
  • Highly dynamic, enthusiastic, and passionate about solutions that drive sustainability.
  • Proactive hunter mentality, with a focus on pipeline generation and deal closure.
