About the Role
Here at Brakes, we have ambitious growth plans. If you want to help shape the future of our independent business at the cutting edge of foodservice trends, this is a fantastic opportunity to join our Independent Sales Team as a Business Development Manager.
Responsibilities
- Scope and secure new business opportunities with fresh independent clients, ensuring a healthy pipeline flow
- Engage and build relationships with independent food market players, driven by curiosity for everything culinary and food-focused
- Develop bespoke culinary propositions that save customers time and money
- Drive profit and growth by hitting profit targets and earning rewards
- Onboard new clients professionally, ensuring a smooth introduction with the Area Sales Manager
- Monitor market trends and competitors to deliver the best solutions, leveraging insights from the UK’s largest food wholesaler
- Achieve market goals with confidence and a proactive, performance-driven mindset

Requirements
We’re looking for motivated individuals with:
- A strong commercial mindset and drive to surpass targets
- Experience in field sales (not essential, but favourable)
- Confidence representing the brand on-site with customers
- An aptitude for adapting to Brakes’ unique products and services (training will be provided)
- A culture of diversity and inclusion, bringing unique perspectives and ideas to the team
While foodservice or hospitality experience is beneficial, our structured induction programme will ensure you’re fully knowledgeable about our operations.
