Business Development Manager

We are recruiting for the role of Business Development Manager (BDM).

About the Role

As the BDM, you will be accountable for delivering sales and margin growth for your assigned customer base by:

  • Building and maintaining strong customer relationships in your assigned territory.
  • Crafting and implementing sales strategies and tactics tailored to your market sector.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute confident, territory-specific sales strategies.
  • Effectively communicate with Branch, Regional, and Senior Management.
  • Nurture relationships with suppliers, field-based trainers, and product managers.
  • Utilise business intelligence software to create informed analyses.
  • Influence branch management and sales teams in performance-driven ways.

Requirements & Success Criteria

To excel in this role, you must:

  • Be customer-focused with exceptional selling skills, capable of engaging with all customer segments to build enduring relationships across your region.
  • Be a dynamic, performance-driven professional with strong negotiation and selling abilities.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness, stay informed of competitor activity, and understand market conditions.
  • Have extensive experience in customer account management.
  • Proven track record of driving sales and margin growth within a business-to-business environment.
  • Experience in identifying and developing new business opportunities.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong training and presentation abilities.
  • Thriving under pressure and able to meet tight deadlines.
